‘If I’m being really honest’ – Charlton defender asked about appearing on reality show ‘Love Undercover’

Charlton Athletic defender Lloyd Jones admitted he appeared on the reality show ‘Love Undercover’ for the money.

The Addicks centre-half featured in the show alongside former Premier League stars Jamie O’Hara and Ryan Babel.

Jones scored the only goal in the 1-0 League One opening-day win at Wigan on Saturday.

The series was filmed in the United States and was broadcast on the streaming service Peacock next month.

“It was done two years ago,” said Jones.

“It was during my off time. It was an opportunity that came up. You want to look after yourself as well as you can because you never know what’s around the corner in football.

“My main focus is Charlton and football will always be the main focus in my life.

“I just did it for the money, if I’m really honest.

“I’m a footballer and it’s number one, two, three, four and five in my life.

“It was a great experience and I enjoyed it. But the bottom line is that I’m a footballer and that’s all I have wanted to do since I was young.”
