Bromley boss Woodman: Crystal Palace loanee was ‘very good’ in Wimbledon win

Andy Woodman believes Bromley’s track record of progressing the careers of young loanees is finally being noticed – with Danny Imray hitting the ground running on loan from Crystal Palace.

Imray made his first EFL appearance last weekend – coming on as a first-half substitute in the 2-0 win at Harrogate.

The right wing-back started the Saturday afternoon clash against AFC Wimbledon and picked up an assist in the second half – driving forward from his own half and setting up Corey Whitely.

Ex-Eagles goalkeeper coach Woodman said: “Danny was very good today. He is a good player, we know that, we can thank Crystal Palace for for loaning him to us.

“Hopefully, Crystal Palace and other clubs will start looking at what we do here at Bromley and realise that we utilise their players and hopefully progress their careers – that’s what we’ve done really well here as a football club.

“It’s probably gone unnoticed in other places, but certainly, we’ve had a lot of good loans here that gone on and kicked on for us.

“People are now sitting up, realising that Bromley is not a little non-league club, and we’ve had some good players here.

“Ali Al-Hamadi two years ago playing for us, and he’s now playing in the Premiership –

“We have had a fair share of good players come on loan to us and kicked on, so I’m hoping people realise that I’ve not got a lot of bad track record with young players, and I think working at Arsenal immensely helped me with that.”
