Pride all round as Charter North Dulwich absorbs fine A-level stats

Students at The Charter School North Dulwich are celebrating what the it describes as “a set of fantastic A-level and BTEC results.”

A total of 54 per cent of all A-level grades achieved were A/A, up from 49 per cent in 2023. The number of A-B grades awarded increased to 81 per cent, up from 80 per cent in 2023.

Some 66 per cent of BTEC grades were Distinction or Distinction* with 94 per cent of students achieving a Merit or higher. There were 76 per cent of students achieving at least one A grade or equivalent, with over 33% of students gaining an A* or A in each of their subjects – an increase of 5 per cent.

In sum, 46 per cent of students achieved at least AAB or higher and 80 per cent of students who applied to university will progress to their first choice establishment, including seven students who have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge, two students are studying medicine and one dentistry.

In addition, a further six students were successful in securing places their first choice art foundation courses at highly competitive establishments.

It was also another strong performance this year in BTEC Level 3 courses, with 100 per cent of students taking the Sports BTEC gaining a Distinction or Merit grade and 100 per cent gaining a Distinction or Merit in the Business BTEC.

The Charter School North Dulwich is an inclusive, state funded secondary school, recognised as one of the top
schools in the country for achievement in sixth form.

Headteacher, Mark Pain said today: “We are so proud of the outstanding achievements of all of our students, this is down to their exceptional hard work and commitment to their studies.

“Their performance is outstanding and they should be very proud of their outcomes. The efforts and commitment of the students, teaching staff and the pastoral team, in particular the work of our head of sixth form, Ms. Dougall and the wider sixth form team, has been exceptional.”

Next steps announced: Chibi Ajero, will complete an apprenticeship at Bloomberg, Isoken Alohan will study accounting and finance at Durham University, Billy Whitewick will do psychology at the University of Leeds, and Fergus Kingston is heading to Queens University Belfast.

Three students are heading to Oxford in October. These are Harry Colegate (history), Eden Smith (English literature) and Anna Stibbe (English and Spanish). Off to Cambridge are Alice Atkins (geography), Catriona Robson (natural sciences), Sky Stobart (history) and Sophia Wallace (geography).

Ben Isaacs and Ayana Pathak, will be studying medicine at Manchester and Kings College respectively, and Annabell Adu Gyamfi has secured a place to study dentistry at Kings College.

Deborah Kusanu will study psychology and cognitive neuroscience at Nottingham, Frank Medley maths at Sheffield, Mutiat Gbadamosi economics at Sussex and Amelie Malone psychology at Leeds.

The following students achieved three A* grades: Catriona Robson, Eden Smith, Anna Stibbe, Sophia Wallace, Jan Laidler, Sky Stobart, Ruben Luthra, Max Flanagan, Belle Ellington, Zoe Hill, Alice Atkins, Edward Colegate and Ayana Pathak.
