Millwall boss comments on Kevin Nisbet – striker linked with Aberdeen transfer

Millwall head coach Neil Harris has commented on Kevin Nisbet’s absence from his matchday squad on Saturday.

The Scottish striker did not travel for the 4-3 defeat at Bristol City.

Harris told the South London Press today that Nisbet, signed last summer from Hibernian, was unavailable due to illness and had not been in for training this week.

Speculation has swirled around the frontman’s future with Scottish media linking Aberdeen with a bid for the 27-year-old.

The Lions are already short on frontline options with Tom Bradshaw and Macaulay Langstaff the only senior players in that area.

Our paper revealed that Middlesbrough’s Josh Coburn is a target for the Championship side.

Asked about Nisbet’s situation, Harris told our paper: “As always, it’s not just about Millwall Football Club, it’s about players as well – what their needs are.

“Yes, we’re very light on players. Kevin wasn’t with us on the weekend due to illness.

“I’m not sure if he will be with us this week. We have to get on with it. There has to be different agendas in the game.

“Some players settle, some don’t. I said back in May that naturally, over the course of a transfer window, there will be players coming in the building and players who want to leave for various reasons.

“I don’t expect that to be any different between now and August 30. I expect and hope there will be players in the building.

“I do expect one or two to leave the building for their own agendas.”
