Harris Boys’ Academy reporting ‘best ever’ GCSE scores

Students at Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich are celebrating achieving the academy’s best-ever results this morning.

Overall, students at the Peckham Rye establishment gained a total of 276 top Grade 9s and Grade 8s across their subjects with some particularly impressive results in physics, chemistry, history and English.

Top-performing students include Stanley Upfold who achieved an incredible nine Grade 9s and two Grade 8s and Lucas Porras, who achieved six Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and one Grade 7.

Chris Brett, Principal of the academy, which was judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted earlier this year, said: “I am so proud of all the students collecting their GCSE results today. They have been a great group to work with and have shown real dedication to their studies.

“Not only have they achieved great outcomes but they have developed into responsible, articulate and confident young adults who are keen to make a positive contribution to our local community.  I know they will go on to achieve some outstanding things in the future as leaders and I look forward to welcoming many of them to our Sixth Form.

“Thank you to our fantastic staff for supporting and guiding our students as well as our parents and carers who play such an active role in their child’s education.”
