Millwall boss asked for early injury update on Coburn and Cooper after Luton defeat

Neil Harris says it’s too soon to determine the full extent of injuries suffered by Josh Coburn and Jake Cooper in the 1-0 loss to Luton Town.

Coburn was substituted in the first half before Cooper was replaced by Shaun Hutchinson after the break.
The Lions defender had received treatment following a corner towards the end of the first half.
Both are calf issues – but it won’t be clear if either will be missing for a period until after the weekend.
Harris said post-match: “To lose your big man after 20 minutes is tough. It’s a real frustration for us that and we hope we see him back soon.
“Him and Jake look like calf [injuries]. Until we let them settle down over the next 24-48 hours we don’t know. But [they’re] two very key players for us.”
The Lions boss went on to deliver an encouraging update on club-record signing Mihailo Ivanovic, who could be available for next weekend’s trip to QPR.
When asked if Ivanovic would be back before the next international break, Harris added: “No, no, before that! He’s recovering from a small hamstring string and he’s got a broken fifth metatarsal, so we know we have to be really careful with it.
“But we’re looking at an outside chance for Saturday [vs QPR] to be involved, but he has to tick certain boxes first. We have to make sure we don’t push him too soon and he’s then going to be ruled out for eight, 10, 12 weeks.
“Nobody wants him on the pitch quicker than I do! So I’ll certainly be pushing people in the building, but also I understand – and we have to be really respectful – this is a young lad here for the long-term.
“But ultimately, if Josh isn’t going to be available, then we need him in the short-term as well.”
