Woolwich house closed down after evidence of drug dealing
A house on the Woolwich Dockyard Estate has been ordered to close after reoccurring incidents of antisocial and criminal behaviour.
It follows a joint operation by Greenwich council and the Met.
Following regular patrols of the estate, council officers identified drug dealing and other antisocial behaviour near the council property in Marine Drive.
The police have previously issued several warrants for the property, where drugs and weapons have been seized. The council had issued warnings and interviewed the residents at the property on numerous occasions, however the criminal behaviour continued.
There was also evidence from other residents on the estate about the detrimental effect the activities in and around the property were having on them, and the wider community.
All information gathered by the council and police was presented at Bexley Magistrates Court on September 25, where the order was made for the closure of the property.
The closure was made under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Police Act 2014.
