Neil Harris explains why Leeds United win was ‘special’ – as Millwall move into play-off spots
Neil Harris hailed Millwall’s 1-0 win over Leeds on Wednesday night ‘special’ as they were the best opposition they have faced this season.
The Lions secured their fourth consecutive clean sheet and picked up their fourth straight Championship win with Japhet Tanganga’s 40th-minute strike.
Harris’ side are up to fifth in the Championship and have beaten automatic promotion hopefuls Burnley and Leeds in back-to-back games.
“I want to praise Daniel Farke,“ said Harris.
“He’s a top coach and he has a very, very good team there – the best team I’ve seen this season.
“I can’t see who comes above them in the league from what I have seen so far.
“I’ve not seen everybody in person, but they’re the best team we have played, so it’s a special win for us.
“It’s a classic Den performance – it was backs to the walls and not a lot of the ball.
“We had to rely on being very good at what we do. The defensive discipline was mega.
“Then we had to find a way to affect it at the other end of the pitch.”
