Remembrance: Dulwich school forms Guard of Honour for Royal Family

Dulwich College formed a Guard of Honour in the presence of the Royal Family for the National Act of Remembrance on Sunday.

Ten representatives from Dulwich College’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) joined the King, members of the Royal Family and prominent UK dignitaries, including former Prime Ministers, as they gathered at the Cenotaph in Central London for the National Act of Remembrance. 

This event commemorated the men and women who have given their lives in service to their country as members of HM Forces.

Among the representatives were Oliver Dodd, Rupert Potts, Aaron Chapman-Dawe and Ashton Ferdinand, cadets from Dulwich College. 

They were joined by four cadets from James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) and staff members Scott Swalwell and Jon Fox. 

Together, they stood to pay tribute to the fallen alongside the nation.

On Monday, at 11am, Dulwich College, from Junior to Upper School, came together once again in a minute’s silence to mark Armistice Day. 

Accompanied by the sound of bagpipes played by Henry Armstrong, the College gathered at the War Memorial. Two wreaths were laid to honour the fallen, one by Sir Peter Riddell CBE, President of the Old Alleynian Association (OAA), and another by School Captain Toby Polli. 

The Service was led by the College Chaplain, the Revd. Tim Buckler and the Acting Master, Fiona Angel.
