Milton Keynes boss wants side to use AFC Wimbledon clash to turn a corner in League Two campaign

Milton Keynes boss Scott Lindsey believes that tomorrow’s League Two clash against AFC Wimbledon is the perfect opportunity for his side to turn a corner this season.

The Dons have won the last three outings against the Buckinghamshire-based side, with Matty Stevens and Omar Bugiel scoring in a 2-0 FA Cup win at Stadium MK back in November.

Johnnie Jackson’s side are fourth in League Two and nine points ahead of their rivals.

“It’s the best game we could wish for next,” Lindsey told the club’s YouTube channel.

“I was interviewed after the Fleetwood game and someone mentioned: ‘It’s Wimbledon – we will be up for that.’

“I made a comment and maybe people misread that. I understand how much this game means to the supporters and the football club – it means everything to the players and staff.

“Every game is important to me. We can’t have maximum effort for Wimbledon but then go to Fleetwood away and not have maximum effort.

“We have to give everything in our bodies in order to be better, improve and win.

“I don’t want people to understand the importance of this game – I completely do. I’m using it as a vehicle to make sure we turn this corner in the most amazing game.

“It’s the best game next.”
