Three in hospital after Kensington flat fire

Three people were hospitalised after a flat fire in Kensington on Wednesday night.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze at a terraced house in Kensington Court, Kensington.

Three people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Half of the ground-floor flat was damaged by fire, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.

Firefighters were first called to the scene at around 8.45pm.

Crews from Chelsea, Kensington, Paddington and Hammersmith fire stations brought the fire under control by around 9.50pm.

The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by halogen spotlights – heated lights which use halogen gas – placed too close to furniture.
