Man ‘performed sex act while staring at woman’ on Northern line 

Police are searching for a man who performed a sex act on himself while staring at a woman on board a Northern line train last summer.

The British Transport Police (BTP) has released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The victim was travelling on the Northern line tube, between Balham and Old Street, when the incident took place on August 22, 2024.

At around 11.40pm a man sat opposite her and began to perform a sex act on himself while staring at her, the BTP said.

Police would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact the BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 2400106476.

The BTP are also appealing to anyone who may have experienced similar incidents, to report it. 

A spokesman said: “All reports of sexual assault are taken seriously and any information provided can help build a bigger picture.”
