Man turned up at hospital with leg wound after Clapham shooting

A man arrived in hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound minutes after reports of a firearm being used in incidents which police are linking.

Detectives from Trident Crime Command are appealing for information following the shooting.

Police were called at 9.31pm on Tuesday, 4 June to Bedford Road at the junction with Fenwick Place, near Clapham North Tube station, following reports of a firearms discharge.

Officers found no trace of any victims or suspects.

At 9.46pm officers were alerted to a 24-year-old man who had presented at a South London hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. His injuries were declared not life-threatening.

Detectives have linked this injured person to the shooting.

A shell casing has been recovered.

At this stage there have been no arrests.
