Lyle Taylor stars for AFC Wimbledon in FA Cup – despite personal tragedy in build-up to tie
Neal Ardley has revealed that Lyle Taylor played in Sunday’s 3-1 FA Cup win over Charlton despite the sad loss of “somebody extremely close to him”.
The AFC Wimbledon striker scored twice in the victory over their South London rivals.
Ardley said: “Lyle’s had a tough week. He’s lost somebody extremely close to him on Saturday morning – very upset.
“I had a bit of time with him, he’s upset again now after the game. I know when he scored the second goal he has looked up, and I know it is for that person.
“The family will be extremely proud of him, and that person will.”
