Drug dealer caught with £5,000 worth of cocaine and heroin in wardrobe jailed for three years

A man who stashed £5,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin in his wardrobe has been jailed for three years.

Feroze Khan, 26, of Denmark Hill, pleaded guilty to supplying class-A drugs after 509 wraps of crack cocaine and 84 wraps of heroin were found at a property he used.

The police became aware of Khan after they attempted to stop him as he sat in the driver’s seat of a blue Mercedes in Denmark Hill, but then raced off at speed after seeing the officers.

It was suspected that Khan was involved in the supply of drugs and search warrants were conducted at various addresses controlled or used by Khan.

During the course of one of the searches at a flat in East Dulwich, a specialist search dog sniffed out the drugs which were in a fleece hanging in a wardrobe.

The Met says the drugs had a combined value of more than £5,000.

Khan was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on Monday at Inner London Crown Court and is also subject to a 10-year criminal behaviour order when released.

The investigation into Khan is part of an initiative to combat drugs lines, where those controlling the supply do not always come into direct contact with those selling on the drugs.

Detective Constable Raymond Sekalongo said: “Khan thought he could evade police because he wasn’t directly involved in the handling of drugs, but we are now able to target those higher up the chain and prove their involvement.

Drug dealing is closely linked with violence we see on our streets.

“We will deal robustly with those who seek to sell drugs, exploit young people and target the most vulnerable within our communities for the sole purpose of financial gain.”
