Dulwich Hamlet boss reveals his target for the 2019-20 National League South season

Gavin Rose reckons that an acceptable target for Dulwich Hamlet next season is a top-seven finish.
The Champion Hill outfit finished 14th in the table in the 2018-19 campaign – their first in National League South.
And Rose has made a number of changes to his squad this summer with a raft of signings announced last week.
He said: “If we get in the play-offs at the end of the season I would be very happy. That would be our target. Top seven would be a good achievement – seven places higher than we finished, which is a massive jump.
“We are trying to bridge a gap and improve, and that is a massive gap.
“But anything above where we finished would still be an achievement. There are a lot of games to be played and you don’t know which signings will hit the ground running. So it is hard to start putting aspirations of exactly where we are going to be.
“Everyone probably looks at our gates and assumes we get a massive budget, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Some clubs, without being too graphic, are very clever in the way they present their budgets to the league – what’s on paper isn’t necessarily what they are paying.
“At Dulwich we put down exactly what we have paid.
“I would say last year we had an average mid-table budget. We have tried to slightly improve that this year.”
