Crystal Palace v Colchester United team line-ups: Victor Camarasa gets first Eagles action in League Cup

Roy Hodgson has handed a debut to summer signing Victor Camarasa as a strong Crystal Palace side host Colchester United in the League Cup.

The loanee starts in midfield alongside James McCarthy, who makes his full debut having twice appeared from the substitutes bench. Max Meyer and Andros Townsend return to the wide berths from which they were dropped for the Eagles’ 2-1 victory at Manchester United on Saturday.

There is also a full debut for 20-year-old defender Sam Woods.

Wilfried Zaha, Gary Cahill, Jordan Ayew and Cheikhou Kouyate are among the substitutes. Wayne Hennessey starts in goal in place of Vicente Guaita, who is not in the squad.

Crystal Palace: Hennessey, Woods, Dann, Kelly, Riedewald, Townsend, Camarasa, McCarthy, Meyer, Benteke, Wickham. Subs: Henderson, Tavares, Cahill, Kouyate, Kirby, Ayew.

Colchester United: Gerken, Jackson, Prosser, Senior, Norris, Comley, Eastman, Gambin, Stevenson, Clampin, Nouble. Subs: Ross, Brown, Kensdale, Chilvers, Poku, James, Cowan-Hall.
