Crystal Palace captain Milivojevic: We’ll try to correct mistakes we made in derby loss

Luka Milivojevic says Crystal Palace will learn lessons from their 4-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend – as they head back to Selhurst Park on Sunday to face a struggling Wolves side.

“Listen, that’s the point,” said the former Red Star Belgrade player. “The coaching staff and us as players are going to go and prepare for the new game, but first we will analyse this game; see what was bad and to try to correct it, see what was good and to try to keep it, although against Wolves it will be a different game.

“In fact, every single game has a different preparation and Wolves are a very good side with good organisation and a good shape so it will not be easy. But we play our next two games at home and are looking forward to getting some points.”

Despite his side having little chance of getting anything from the game in the second half in north London, the Palace captain praised the Eagles faithful who stayed and chanted until the final whistle and was quick to praise their support on the season-long journey.

“I need to thank the fans not just because they just came to see the game  but because it is not easy when your team loses 4-0,” said Milivojevic. “They have seen that we have tried and given our best but in the end we lost against a better side.

“As captain of the group and a professional football player, I am so proud that we have these kind of fans; they stick together with us.

“When we win, we win together and when we lose, we lose together. We are like one family and that’s something which makes me very proud to be part of this club.”
