South London Press staff buy shopping list for foodbank
South London Press staff got into the Christmas spirit this week when they bought much-needed provisions for the Southwark Foodbank, based in Peckham High Street.
The foodbank provided a shopping list online, which South London Press staff contributed to.
Chief reporter Toby Porter said: “This is the least we can do at this time of the year when many families are struggling while the rest of us are having fun. The South London Press has always tried to help important causes throughout the year but this one is very close to our hearts.”
If you would like to help Southwark Foodbank email welcome@pecan.org.uk or call 020 7732 0007.
Everyone at the South London Press thanks you for your continued support.
Former Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has encouraged everyone in the country who can afford to do so to buy a newspaper, and told the Downing Street press briefing:
“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”
If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online. Or please make cheques payable to “MSI Media Limited” and send by post to South London Press, Unit 112, 160 Bromley Road, Catford, London SE6 2NZ
