Lee Bowyer has requested a personal hearing after being charged by the FA over alleged comments made during Charlton’s recent loss to Swansea City.

The Addicks manager faces two charges of improper conduct and/or questioning the integrity of match referee Peter Bankes and had until Wednesday to respond.

Bowyer was only issued with a warning by the FA for his red card in September’s match against Birmingham City.

The Addicks boss had left his technical area to throw a stray ball back to the Blues bench – with opposite counterpart Pep Clotet unable to provide any information for which of his staff put it on to the field of play as Charlton trailed 1-0 in stoppage time.

Bowyer, right, served a three-match touchline ban after being sent off at AFC Wimbledon in February.

Charlton have sold out their allocation of 1,994 tickets for the match at West Bromwich Albion on  October 26.
