Millwall boss Gary Rowett seeking more clinical touch – even though Lions only not scored in two Championship games

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Millwall have only failed to score in two Championship matches this season – but boss Gary Rowett still wants a more clinical touch from his side.

The Lions resume Championship action at Swansea City this weekend.

Millwall only fired blanks in a 4-0 defeat at Fulham in August and a 2-0 reverse at Blackburn Rovers.

The Lions have netted 11 times in their last six league outings.

Rowett said: “We need to perhaps be a little bit more clinical when we’ve had chances.

“Even looking back to the three games we’ve been here we could’ve scored more goals, certainly.

“We’ve got some good forward options, you notice that with the squad.

“We’ve seen Bradders [Tom Bradshaw] creating chances and scoring, Jed [Wallace] creating chances and scoring. We’ve seen Jon Dadi [Bodvarsson] has come off the bench and also starting. Matt Smith coming off the bench, so we’ve got all that and also good players still waiting for their opportunity.

“There’s been times we’ve scored goals and not won games. We want to be a side that when you score two goals we win the game because we do the right things off the ball and limit the opposition.

“We’ve got a hell of a lot of work to do to get to where we want to be.”
