Charlton Athletic are set to make a signing today – with manager Lee Bowyer outlining how many deals he expects to happen in this month’s transfer window.
The Addicks have a huge swathe of their squad missing due to injuries.
And Bowyer is hoping to conclude a loan deal for a Premier League player before midday, so that they can feature at Swansea City tomorrow night.
“We’re looking to bring at least three in – as early as possible,” he said. “Or maybe bring two early and try to get one later on.
“That’s the plan, to get two in, just to help us now a little bit, and then one a bit later on.
“There’s one we’re trying to get done for today, so he can be involved in the team or be on the bench and come on.”

Unfortunately, Charlton can no longer rely on the players who are trying their best, even if at times it is not quite good enough. Reinforcements are required and quickly and we must trust that Steve Gallen and co have already done their homework to ensure the correct signings are made. One thing that still puzzles me is how long players seem to take to recover from hamstring injuries. Knee and ankle ligaments yes, they take time, but hamstrings ? I just do not understand. Anyway, as the saying goes these days, it is what it is !!
