Fulham admirers of Charlton Athletic’s Alfie Doughty – but flying winger is not for sale

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Fulham are interested in Alfie Doughty – but Charlton have made it clear that the young attacker is not for sale.

It is thought that other Championship sides are also keen on the 20-year-old, who has made an impressive step up to first-team level since the end of November.

But the Addicks are not ready to consider an exit for Doughty, who had started the campaign on loan at National League side Bromley.

The injury pile-up for the SE7 outfit saw him recalled and his pace and directness down the left has been a positive in a tough period for Lee Bowyer’s side.

Doughty scored in Charlton’s last win – a 3-2 success over Bristol City at The Valley.

Addicks manager Lee Bowyer underlined earlier today that he did not want to lose any members of his first-team squad.

Charlton have made one addition in the January transfer window – Aston Villa’s Andre Green coming in on loan – but have lost Jonathan Leko, Conor Gallagher and Beram Kayal.

The deadline for deals to be done is 11pm tomorrow night.
