Jayson Molumby: Millwall won the physical battles at Nottingham Forest
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Jayson Molumby admitted Millwall’s game plan paid off in style as they boosted their Championship play-off prospects at Nottingham Forest.
The Lions produced a superb away display at the City Ground with Matt Smith bagging a 13-minute hat-trick.
Molumby thought he had got the second goal but his low shot came off the heel of Smith on its way past Brice Samba.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international, on loan from Brighton, told Sky Sports: “He’s scored enough goals throughout his career so I thought it was only fair he gave me this one – but it wasn’t meant to be.
“It’s Millwall down to a tee – we just work hard for each other. Our goal from the start was not to let them settle and put them under pressure. Physically we got the better of them and won the battles.”
