Four teenagers arrested after unprovoked attack on men in Wimbledon
Four teenage boys have been arrested in connection with an unprovoked attack on two men in Wimbledon Village.
The two victims – both aged in their 20s – were randomly attacked by an unknown group in High Street Mews, Wimbledon Village, shortly before 2.30am on March 8.
One victim remains in hospital with a serious head injury. The other has since been discharged.
Officers from the local CID are investigating and have arrested four boys in connection with their inquiries, two aged 15 and two aged 16.
All were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and taken into police custody before being bailed to return pending further inquiries. They are due to return on a date in early May.
Acting Detective Sergeant Simon Monga said: “The victims were subjected to a frightening ordeal in a completely unprovoked attack while they were walking home. They were punched and kicked to the floor and assaulted further.
“Nothing was stolen from them and we believe this could have been a case of mistaken identity.
“One of the victims remains in hospital and will do so for many weeks.”
