Millwall season ticket holders will be able to livestream home matches – into their own homes

Home matches really will be home matches for the rest of the season for Millwall fans – and so will the away ones.

The Lions have devised a scheme to allow season ticket holders to watch all their remaining 2019/20 fixtures in their own sitting rooms on iFollow.

The rest of the campaign will take place behind closed doors – but the club’s most dedicated fans will be given exclusive access to stream all home and away games left to play.

It looks likely to start with the visit of Derby County on Saturday June 20 – though the fixtures are yet to be finalised. Details of how season ticket holders can gain access to the streaming of matches will be announced next week.

Should any of Millwall’s remaining fixtures be selected for live coverage on Sky Sports then those matches will still be available on iFollow to season ticket holders, but not to anybody else.

A statement on the Den club’s website said: “The club hopes that this compensation package represents a fair and reasonable settlement for all season ticket holders in what is an unprecedented and financially challenging predicament completely outside of its control.

“The club would like to place on record its gratitude to fans for their patience, understanding and loyalty throughout this ongoing COVID-19 crisis.”

Games not selected for TV coverage on Sky Sports will be available for all other fans to purchase on iFollow at the usual Match Pass price of £10.

Fans who had bought match tickets for the home games against Derby and Swansea City, as well as for the matches away to Barnsley and Charlton Athletic, will be entitled to a full refund.

These refunds will be issued as soon as it is logistically possible and the club says a further announcement will be made when that is the case.

The club will also offer supporters the alternative option to pledge their refund monies as part of a donation the club is making to the Millwall Community Trust to assist with its projects during the pandemic crisis.
