Man rushed to hospital after stabbing yards from Tower Bridge

A man was rushed to hospital after up to 15 youths were involved in a mass brawl which ended in weapons being pulled.

Police were called at around 9.30pm on Sunday following reports of a man with stab injuries in Druid Street, Southwark – just yards from Tower Bridge.

Police and paramedics found a man, believed to be in his late teens, who was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The teenager is thought to have sustained his injuries following a fight involving a number of other young people.

One eyewitness, who gave first aid to the stabbing victim, said: “There was a group of around 15 youths fighting with knives. Two came off of a motorbike.

“A female passed by and was pushed to the ground and one youth was stabbed six times on top of her.

“I heard he was being put into a coma while they operated on him. He was around 16-18-years old.

“I am extremely concerned with the level of violence around this area. I wish something would be done about the issue.”

No arrests have been made.
