Millwall striker Lee Gregory scored against Reading on Saturday and then admitted: “I did it with my eyes shut.”
The Lions frontman put the Lions 2-0 ahead at the Madejski Stadium as he got to Steve Morison’s cross first and fired home from a relatively tight angle.
It was Gregory’s 50th Football League goal and his sixth of the campaign.
“Another goal, I am happy with it,” he said. “I just closed my eyes, just hit it and it went in, didn’t it?”
“The boys were class. It was good to get the win away from home, our second of the season and now we are marching on. We are looking up, of course.
“Nothing’s changed in the last few away games. We are doing exactly what we have been doing at the start of the season, but this time we are being more clinical in front of goal.”
Millwall are at Rochdale tonight for their FA Cup fourth round replay. The winner will face the winner of the Tottenham-Newport County tie – the north Londoners massive favourites to progress at Wembley.
The fifth round game will be televised.
Gregory said: “It’s a bigger incentive. We want Spurs down at The Den, so it’s a big game for us, we want to win.”
