South London teenager stabbed to death near Oxford Street

A 17-year-old South Londoner was the victim of a murder near Oxfrod Street on Saturday evening.

Jeremy Menesses, from Southwark, was the second teenager stabbed to death in Westminster in the space of three weeks.

A murder investigation was launched following the stabbing, in the West End.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the assault close to Oxford Street.

Cops were called shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday to reports of an assault in Market Place at the junction with Oxford Street.

Officers attended and found a man in his late teens suffering from a stab injury.

He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital where he was pronounced dead just after 7.30pm.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

Three males have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

The killing comes three weeks after a murder investigation was launched on July 15.

Ahmed Yassin-Ali, 18, was found with fatal stab injuries three miles away in Elmfield Way, Maida Vale, at around 12.30am.
