Nineteen people arrested after dawn raids across Croydon
Nineteen people have been arrested following two days’ of raids at 30 addresses in Croydon.
The warrants form part of Operation Tofano, an intelligence-led, phased operation established in and around Croydon.
The police activity was launched in response to ongoing reports of drug dealing, drug use, violence and anti-social behaviour.
Yesterday’s morning raids marked a second successful day of action.
Over the past two days officers have arrested a total of 17 men and two women – aged between 16 and 45.
They were arrested for offences including drugs supply and modern slavery offences in relation to child exploitation.
More than 200 officers took part in each of the two days of the operation. It was led by local officers, with additional support provided by officers from the Territorial Support Group.
Nine people were arrested on Wednesday and they have been charged and remanded in custody to appear at court yesterday.
Those arrested on Thursday remain in custody at a South London police station pending further enquiries.
Items seized so far include quantities of Class A and Class B drugs, and a quantity of cash.
Searches are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan O’Sullivan, from South Area Command, said: “Our commitment to combat criminality and anti-social behaviour has never been stronger.
“We always seek to improve and develop stronger and more effective tactics to do this, but we need our community to help us.

“We will always act on the concerns of the community and work with them to tackle criminality blighting neighbourhoods.
