Charlton Athletic Women sign former Bristol City keeper

BY JOSHUA BUNTING
Charlton Athletic Women have signed goalkeeper Eartha Cumings.
Cumings left Women’s Super League side Bristol City earlier this summer but comes to the Addicks due the season-ending injury Shanell Salgado sustained.
She had struggled for first team playing opportunities with her former club providing cover for first choice Bristol City goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley.
Cumings said: “I’m really excited to be joining Charlton. All the girls and staff have been great in making me feel welcome since arriving.
“I’m looking forward to the season starting and playing our first games.”
The shotstopper began her career with Edinburgh-based Spartans WFC and has represented Scotland at U16, U17 and U19 level.
Cumings will be familiar with the Addicks as she played against them in last season’s Continental Cup tournament for the Robins.
She will be available to make her debut when Charlton take on Crystal Palace in the opening match of the season on Sunday September 6.
