Charlton Athletic trial experienced defender – but move set to hinge on transfer embargo being lifted

Charlton Athletic could be set to hand a deal to Joel Lynch – provided they emerge from their transfer embargo.

The 32-year-old defender has been training with the Addicks over the last few days.

But the League One club are under an embargo which prevents them offering wages of more than £1,300.

Charlton have one slot free after the exit last week of Tom Lockyer to Luton Town.

Lynch has played for Brighton, QPR, Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest.

He left the Black Cats in June.
