A centre to help aspiring architects and engineers, created in memory of murder victim Stephen Lawrence, is set to open near his home next month.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust has announced the launch of Your Space – a creative co-working hub in Deptford, with offices for start-ups and emerging entrepreneurs.

Members will have the choice of flexible collaborative workspace access or long-term tenancy in the resident space, and use of an outdoor terrace offering scenic views of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust has announced the launch of Your Space – a co-working hub in Deptford, with offices for start-ups and emerging entrepreneurs, in the name of the murdered teenager

Housed within the Stephen Lawrence Centre, the Your Space interior has been re-imagined by the team at Gensler, who are using their design expertise to create a motivating setting to foster networking, development and collaboration among emerging architects, designers and creatives.

The trust has provided support for disadvantaged youths through the Stephen Lawrence Centre for 20 years.

Your Space will help to further empower and launch the careers of youths aspiring to work within the built environment through access to affordable infrastructure and continued support.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust’s chief executive, Sonia Watson, said: “We are very excited to introduce a new initiative that both supports the charity and provides aspiring entrepreneurs with accessible resources to help them develop and flourish. We are committed to shaping Your Space into London’s leading co-working hub for start-ups within the built environment.”

The launch of Your Space further secures Stephen Lawrence’s legacy and coincides with a range of high profile activities organised by the Trust to mark 25 years since his murder.
