Charlton boss Lee Bowyer reacts to Brentford keeper transfer link

Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer says he is not aware of any interest from Brentford in goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.

The 24-year-old was linked with a switch to the Bees by a national newspaper at the weekend. They claimed that the west London club – beaten by Fulham in the Championship play-off final – would go for Phillips if they sold David Raya to Arsenal.

“We’ve not heard anything from Brentford,” Bowyer told the South London Press. “It’s just people out there trying to escalate something. We’ve not heard a thing.

“There is a club that is interested in him that has approached us. I think there is a good possibility he’ll go there.”
Bournemouth are understood to be keen on Phillips but a move looks likely to hinge on them moving Asmir Begovic out.

Mark Travers started in goal for the Cherries at the weekend but conceded a soft opening goal in the 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers.
