Bexley launches appeal for workers during coronavirus crisis

An urgent appeal for workers has been issued by Bexley council, as the coronavirus pandemic sees the borough’s care sector stretched to the limit.
The authority made the appeal on Monday for workers to immediately cover a variety of roles – ranging from cooks and housekeepers, to nurses and laundry assistants.
“As part of our response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are urgently looking to recruit to a number of roles to support the borough’s care sector and help the most vulnerable in our community,” the council stated.
The jobs also include everything from maintenance workers to senior care assistants working across Bexley’s care sector.
“If you have any of these skills or you have transferable experience and are available immediately to help ensure that Bexley residents receive the support and care that they need either in their homes or in residential care settings then we want to hear from you,” the council stated in its appeal.
The authority added that training and support would be available for applicants where needed.
