Boy charged with murder of Elianne Andam after knife found
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 15-year-old Elianne Andam, who was stabbed to death in Croydon.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear in the youth court at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today.
He has been charged with murder and possession of a knife.
Police recovered a knife in Cedar Road, near East Croydon railway station, yesterday.
Ms Andam was attacked in Wellesley Road at around 8.30am on Wednesday.
Officers were at the scene within two minutes of the call being received. They worked with emergency service colleagues to provide first aid.
Despite their efforts, Ms Andam died at the scene.
A short time later a 17-year-old boy was arrested in New Addington on suspicion of murder.
