A branch of a mental health charity received a generous donation to support its work in the community.

The Lambeth and Southwark branch of mental health charity Mind received the £10,000 donation from HG Construction, following a company-wide charity 5k fun run.

The donation will support Mind in carrying out its vital work of supporting positive mental health and well-being across the Lambeth and Southwark boroughs.

Greg Purkiss, commercial director of HG Construction, said: “We are pleased to be in a position to support a charity which is close to our hearts, particularly when it is as the result of a combined team effort with all staff putting their energies into our annual charity 5k run to raise much-needed funds.

“Mind provides a range of vital support services for people in need – services which are free of charge so they can help those who would otherwise have no access to these therapies.

“Importantly these services are also long-term and will have a lasting impact on those who take part in the programmes.

The main programmes delivered by Mind include a general psychotherapy service, a psychosis therapy project and a peer support programme.

HG Construction has a number of construction projects ongoing in Lambeth and Southwark.
