Cardiff City striker may recover from ligament damage to face Millwall

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock reckons star striker Kenneth Zohore has a chance of being fit for Saturday’s home game against Millwall.

The 23-year-old Dane bagged 12 goals for the Welsh side last season. He sat out Saturday’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough.

Warnock, speaking on Saturday, said: “It happened in training yesterday with no-one near him – he just caught his studs in his turf and affected the back of his ankle. He’s actually ruptured his ankle ligaments which sounds terrible, but as daft as it seems, he might be fit for Saturday.

“Apparently it’s not a ligament you need and you could cut it off and use it elsewhere in your body if you needed to; it’s not weight-bearing so it’s just sore and when he comes out of that pain by Wednesday or Thursday, he will be fit.”
