Catford pub to be sold at auction

A prominent town centre pub is to be sold at auction later this month.

The Ninth Life in Rushey Green, Catford, will be sold at the Acuitus auction on May 18.

Auctioneers say the pub generates around ÂŁ150,000 per year and is being offered with a guide price of ÂŁ2.35m.

It underwent a substantial refit in 2018 and boasts a patio and rear garden. The property is let with 15 years left on the lease.

David Margolis, of Acuitus, said: “Investors are being attracted to the leisure and hospitality properties by the long leases they tend to feature and the sustainability of the income they provide.

“This asset has those qualities, as well being located in a well-populated suburb of South-east London.

“Long-term, you can also see residential conversion potential here on the upper floors, subject to planning and the existing lease. We expect strong interest in the auction room.”

The Acuitus auction will take place on Thursday, May 18 at 1pm. It will be broadcast via livestream on the Acuitus website here and offers online, telephone and proxy bidding.

  • Certainly a worry that a viable, welcoming, community-focused pub and asset in a regenerating town centre u is a being touting for its residential conversion potential
