Catford Wanderers tennis: Second teams face David Lloyd Dartford

Catford Wanderers ladies second team struggled against David Lloyd Dartford – with the latter adapting much better to the wet courts.

Jenny Crome and Rhondda Lewis-Tufts beat Catford’s Jane Martin and Kate Williams 6-1 6-1 and accounted for Jayne Qureshi and Basia Olsinska 6-0 6-2.

Wanderers’ pairings also went down in straight sets to Rachel Sharp and Carys Hartley.

The mens’ veterans second side had a 3-1 victory over David Lloyd. Nnamdi Samuels and John Clay earned two comfortable wins.   After a 6-1 6-4 victory over Andy Martin and Jamie Board they  beat Steve Scudder and John Foster 6-2 6-4.

Catford’s John Allen and team captain Eamon Martin went down 3-6 3-6 to Martin and Board but inflicited a 6-3 6-3 defeat on Scudder and Foster.

Wanderers mixed team – Kathy Aldridge, Rob Dawbarn, Brian Brass, Lilla Brown, Kalam Azad and Stephanie James – lost 4-2 at Crescent.
