Charlton Athletic boss hoping to get incoming transfer over the line tomorrow

Charlton Athletic manager Karl Robinson has revealed the club are close to making their first signing of the January transfer window.

The Addicks are set to bring in the player on loan but Robinson was keeping his identity private.

Although one player he did dismiss any interest in was Crystal Palace’s Jason Lokilo, linked in the national press today.

“He is a good player – proven at this level. He will excite people.

“It has progressed. The player has agreed, it is just finalising one or two things. He is a semi-striker in some ways. He can play up there, behind the striker or wide. He can play three different positions.

“We need strikers – that is obvious to everyone. Ideally tomorrow [to get the deal done].

“He wants to come and he has experience at this level.”
