Charlton Athletic defender Chris Solly could be ruled out until the summer

Chris Solly is a major doubt to be fit again this season – with the Charlton Athletic right-back set to see renowned knee surgeon Andy Williams next week.

The defender missed today’s 0-0 draw with Fleetwood Town.

“It doesn’t look good,” said Robinson. “Especially with the way our season has gone.

“There is a piece of bone – he got tackled – floating in his knee and he could feel something flicking. It is whether they go in and operate to take that piece out or drill into it and make it more stable.

“If the surgeon just does a clean up it could be three or four weeks. If not then it is nearer the summer.

“Andy Williams is the best in the world at that. You trust him with this sort of injury. He is the best, we’ll see what he says.”
