Charlton Athletic look set to suffer loan blow as O’Kane not ready for League One drop

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Charlton’s hopes of signing Eunan O’Kane seem to be over for this window – with the Leeds United man believed to have opted to only consider Championship loans.

Addicks caretaker manager Lee Bowyer told the South London Press last week that he wanted to bring in the midfielder but also added that the player’s preference was not to drop down to League One.

And we have now been told that O’Kane, barring a late change of heart before Friday’s deadline, has made up his mind not to move unless it is to a club in the same division.

  • There’s a surprise. If he thinks he is too good for us then Bowyer should have moved on last week.
Leeds fans think he is pony anyway.
