Charlton Athletic sign Corey Blackett-Taylor on short-term contract

Charlton have signed former Aston Villa and Tranmere winger Corey Blackett-Taylor on a short-term contract.

The 23-year-old has agreed a deal until January following a couple of weeks spent training with the Addicks.

Blackett-Taylor spent time earlier in the summer with Wigan Athletic after leaving Tranmere at the end of last season.

Blackett-Taylor, capped at junior level by England, is Charlton’s seventh signing of the transfer window.

Charlton manager Nigel Adkins said: “I’m delighted we’ve been able to sign Corey. He’s been training with us and has settled in really well with the group. He has a great attitude and has made a good impression. I’m looking forward to continuing working with him.”

Blackett-Taylor added: “It feels good to be a Charlton player. I’m happy that everything is done and I can’t wait to get started now and start playing football. Everyone says how nice the stadium is, how big the pitch is, so that will definitely suit me.”

Owner Thomas Sandgaard said: “Corey has come in and been training with the team. He is a very quick winger, who has done well while he has been in with us, so I’m looking forward to watching him at The Valley.”
