Charlton Athletic striker agrees Doncaster Rovers switch

Charlton striker Omar Bogle is set to complete a permanent move to Doncaster Rovers.

The 28-year-old only signed for the Addicks at the start of October but the recent loan arrival of Preston North End targetman Jayden Stockley shunted him down the pecking order, writes Richard Cawley.

The former Cardiff City and Grimsby Town forward did not even make the bench for Charlton’s last two League One matches.

Bogle scored twice in 17 appearances. He only signed a deal with the South Londoners until the end of June.

We broke the news earlier this week that Paul Smyth was being recalled by QPR. The Northern Ireland international has also not been included in Lee Bowyer’s matchday 18 for the matches against Swindon and Milton Keynes.

The attacking reshuffle will free up space for the Charlton boss to do a bit more business before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

  • A good bit of business methinks as, unfortunately, Bogle did not really ‘cut the mustard’ at Charlton. One of LB’s and SG’s rare not so good acquisitions. Hopefully he does not come back to haunt us when playing for Doncaster !!. I hope the ‘spare space’ will be utilised wisely by LB and SG. I’m sure it will.
