Charlton Athletic suffer a major blow as Miles Leaburn ruled out for five months
Charlton Athletic striker Miles Leaburn is set to miss the next five months after undergoing hamstring surgery.
The 20-year-old forward came off with an issue at the top of his right leg in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town.
And the League One club have confirmed today that Leaburn underwent a successful op and now faces a significant amount of time on the sidelines.
The news will kill off the prospects of a January exit. We reported recently that Brentford and Chelsea were both keeping tabs on Leaburn, who was unavailable for the opening weeks of the campaign after being the recipient of a poor challenge at Welling United in a pre-season friendly which damaged his ankle.
Charlton are already without Chuks Aneke (hamstring) until the new year.
The Addicks have recalled Dan Kanu from his loan at Southend United.
