Charlton caretaker boss Johnnie Jackson sends out clear message over FA Cup approach

Johnnie Jackson does not expect any drop-off in work-rate from his Charlton Athletic players when they take a break from League One action this weekend.

The Addicks are at home to Havant & Waterlooville in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Jackson is expected to make a number of changes for the tie.

“I’m going to put a team out to win the game – I want to win every game,” said the Charlton caretaker boss. “I totally respect the opposition. It’s a cup game on Saturday but I want to see that [effort] again.

“Whoever I pick I need to see that level of commitment and performance, it doesn’t matter who the opposition are. If they give me that we’ll get through, if they don’t we can come unstuck.”
