Charlton Athletic look set to hand Adam Matthews a one-year contract.
The former Cardiff, Celtic and Sunderland right-back has been training with the Addicks.
And the South London Press understands that Matthews, 27, is set to be the final signing made by Charlton until the winter transfer window.
Charlton have been looking for another option on the right side of their defence after selling Anfernee Dijksteel to Middlesbrough in a £2million deal.
Addicks boss Lee Bowyer had also run the rule over Tyrone Mears.
