Charlton striker Miles Leaburn has the right profile to be a success

Johnnie Jackson is hoping that Miles Leaburn can continue his impressive strides through the ranks at Charlton Athletic.

The 18-year-old scored a hat-trick for the U23s earlier this week as they beat QPR.

Striker Leaburn is the son of former Charlton and Wimbledon striker Carl, while his mum Tracey is the player liaison officer at the Addicks.

Charlton manager Jackson said: “He has done well in the U18s and he needs to step it up and do well for the U23s. It is great he has got those goals – brilliant for him, for the group and for Anthony Hayes.

“Miles has come over and trained with us a few times and done well. He has got a physical profile that catches the eye and he is a big strong lad.

“We monitor the U23s and if they catch the eye we see whether we can bring them up to our group. He is one we will continue to take over with us for training, he’ll drop in and out of the first team [training] towards the end of the season.

“He has got the name as well with his dad playing for the club. It’s natural you look out for him.”
