Council offers kids free meals throughout the summer holidays
During the school summer holidays, a council is offering children free meals from a range of pick up points across the borough.
Children can pick up free holiday meals from libraries, leisure centres and play centres all over Greenwich.
From July 24 until August 25, any child can pick up a packed lunch from the sites, there are no forms or applications needed.
The pickup locations will also be hosting a range of activities for children to get involved with, allowing parents to take a breather.
Councillor Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “With so many families being impacted by the cost-of-living crisis, Greenwich is dedicated to making sure that no child goes hungry outside of school term time.
“There’s no fuss with holiday meals, they’re available to anyone who needs one – no questions asked.
“Despite receiving no direct funding, we know that there is a real need for schemes such as free holiday meals, so we’re committed to providing support for families and children who are struggling during such a turbulent time. This forms part of our effort to make sure that every child in Royal Greenwich reaches their full potential.”
